Joseph Noonan-Ganley

This was good artist to look at because I believe everyone can appreciate his work and can relate it to their own. I liked this work because of the contrast and composition of each piece; it is very stylized and bold. The way he works is really interesting as he manipulates the material remnants and archives of designers,dressmakers, writers and historical artist. I love this idea of turning something old into something new and recycling work. I might use this concept in my own work by getting some of my own drawings and painting over them a different but related subject to juxtapose both pieces. His themes are very personal to the owner; he looks at appropriation which seems very relevant in today’s society and sexuality.
